January 13, 2025 – East Hills Engineering Associates, LLC is pleased to announce that Ms. Mariah D. Ehrhart has passed the Certified Plumbing Design Technician (CPDT) exam.
The CPDT program has four primary objectives and was developed by the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE). To provide a standard of professional competence in the practice of plumbing design at the technician level. To identify and recognize those individuals who successfully complete the certification examination, thereby demonstrating their acquired knowledge and abilities in the field of plumbing design. To encourage plumbing designers to become lifelong learners and participate in a continuing program of professional development and reach CPD certification. To provide a standard for educational programs in plumbing design and encourage implementation of such programs. The CPDT is the first step towards a CPD (Certified in Plumbing Design) designation. ASPE encourages all CPDTs to continue their education and work towards a CPD designation. (Source: https://aspe.org/education-credentialing/cpdt. Accessed December 2024)
“This is a huge accomplishment for me, but I know I couldn’t have done this without the encouragement and support of my family here at East Hills Engineering Associates,” says Ms. Ehrhart. “Without them, I would not have had the knowledge and experience needed to be awarded the honor of a CPDT designation.”
Ms. Ehrhart graduated from Somerset County Technology Center in 2013, where she studied Pre-Engineering/Drafting and Design. At SCTC she was also the school wide SkillsUSA President and the Western Region SkillsUSA Conference Vice President. After graduating, she went on to graduate from Pennsylvania Highlands Community College in 2015 with an AAS in Architectural and Civil CADD. She also made Dean’s List every semester, became a lifetime member of Phi Theta Kappa and Sigma Alpha Pi, and graduated with the honor of Magna Cum Laude.
Prior to being employed at East Hills Engineering Associates, she worked for three years as a structural designer in the construction industry. She is now working in the Plumbing Department as a Plumbing Systems CAD Technician.
