February 24, 2021 – East Hills Engineering Associates, LLC is pleased to announce that Mr. Kyle E. Koval, Certified HVAC Designer (CHD), has been recognized as a contributor to ASHRAE’s (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) Certification Study Guide. The 104-page e-study guide is currently the Publication of the Month and is designed to provide best practices to improve one’s knowledge, skills and abilities that are key in HVAC design job tasks. The guide will also aide in successfully passing the CHD certification exam. Kyle was one of 23 people from six countries, successfully enrolled in the first class of CHD Certification recipients. He is a member of the ASHRAE CHD Exam Subcommittee, which has recently completed development of a new CHD exam form, due to launch later this spring.
“HVAC Design is what I do,” says Kyle. “It’s what ASHRAE does. Earning the CHD certification not only is a point of pride, but it also validates my level of specialized knowledge and ability.”
He is a 2010 graduate of Triangle Tech Institute in Greensburg, PA with an Associate in Applied Science in Architectural Computer Aided Drafting and Design, where he earned High Honors and was the class Valedictorian. He joined East Hills Engineering shortly after graduation and plays an integral part in a wide range of HVAC designs. His designs vary from Elementary/High School boiler systems, to standard office space and medical suite variable air volume and temperature systems, restaurant kitchen hood exhaust design and high-rise residential HVAC systems. Kyle has extensive knowledge of the most current and previous International Building Code, as well as industry accepted ASHRAE standards.
ASHRAE was founded in 1894 and focuses on building systems, energy efficiency and indoor air quality, while being dedicated to advancing the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration to serve humanity and promote a sustainable world.
